Dear Family,
This is my first newsletter. It happens to come during a turbulent time in California, a place where I grew up and hold many ties. The California fires have been devastating to watch and hear about. From my friends who are experiencing it firsthand, I’ve learned that each day they are torn between hopelessness in grief and loss, and hopefulness found within community and support.
When a community suffers, this kind of pain can ripple across the world. Even though I am not experiencing the loss directly, I feel the weight of my friends' fear and sadness. It impacts my thoughts and actions—causing me to hold my family a little tighter, pray more, and practice gratitude. Moments like these remind us of the equilibrium of reality, where we realize we don’t have control and that, in an instant, life can change completely.
At the same time, I believe the opposite is also true: when we in our hearts have positive intent to share love, light, and healing, that too creates a ripple effect throughout our universe. My intention with this post is to share a healing meditation that has brought me comfort, courtesy of artist East West. I hope it can reach you and offer some peace, comfort, and release from whatever you may be going through—big or small. It has helped me in moments of immense grief and has supported me on challenging days.
My calling to start this brand is to share a message of healing: to encourage us to listen to our own hearts to access our essence. I’ll be sharing what has helped me, what I love, and what I’ve learned on this journey. Take what resonates, and leave behind what doesn’t.
With love and gratitude,
Jia-Jia
