Herkimer diamond is a gorgeous gemstone that is primarily transparent in appearance. Sometimes Herkimer diamond occurs in a smoky and colorless appearance as well. This happens because of the air bubbles or black carbon deposits, or rainbow inclusions is formed around the crystal during the formation process. It always have 18 facets and 6 sides with double terminations. Herkimer Diamonds are found in the state of New York.
